Giving joy together🎄
WAYES fundraising campaign 2024: This year, all WAYES locations – Hamburg, Hanover, Berlin, Oldenburg and Bremen – have joined forces to launch a special campaign. As a team, we collected a lot to give children and young people in the following three facilities a Christmas surprise. As our partners also doubled the donations collected, we were able to buy numerous gifts and thus make a small contribution to making the Christmas season a little brighter:
- Sankt Elisabeth Children’s and Youth Centre, Hamburg
The Sankt Elisabeth children’s and youth centre offers young people in difficult life situations a safe home. In addition to a protected environment, the focus is on individual support and the chance of a positive new start.
- Elisabethstift, Berlin
The Elisabethstift in Berlin has stood for support and stability for over 200 years. It supports children, young people and families in difficult phases with a wide range of services that create a sense of security and prospects.
- Ronald McDonald House, Oldenburg
The Ronald McDonald House in Oldenburg offers families of seriously ill children a ‘temporary home’ during hospital treatment. It creates a place of closeness where families can draw strength and stand by each other.
One particular detail really moved us: the children and young people’s Christmas wishes were not for toys, but mainly for everyday items such as nightlights, blankets and pillows. We therefore set off with the lists at three of our locations to fulfil these wishes as comprehensively as possible.
After shopping, our conference rooms and offices became a ‘packing centre’. Everyone pitched in: from choosing the right wrapping paper to the final bow. Thanks to the dedication of the entire team, the gifts were wrapped quickly. It was a great team effort that was not only productive, but also really enjoyable and gave us all pleasure.
The gifts will now be handed over to the three organisations in the next few days. We hope that we will be able to fulfil the wishes of the children and young people with the selected gifts and bring them joy during this special time.
