Handelsblatt Annual Restructuring Conference

The Handelsblatt Restructuring Forum is once again one of the industry’s key events this year. Under the theme ‘Vision, Value, Verdict? – Decision-making in disruptive times’, leading experts from the fields of law, consultancy, finance and business practice will discuss how companies can remain capable of acting and make forward-looking decisions in an increasingly volatile environment.
In this context, restructuring is increasingly seen as a strategic tool, not only for managing crises but also as an active response to transformation and structural change.
WAYES will also be represented at the event this week. Our colleagues Hamed Omumi, Falk Schnurbusch and Johannes Meller will be taking the opportunity to exchange views with representatives from companies, banks, consultancy firms and legal practice on key issues – such as responsibility and liability in the restructuring process, financing matters and regulatory frameworks, or the practical implementation of restructuring plans under increasing time and decision-making pressure.
The programme impressively demonstrates the breadth of current topics: from employment law issues and governance aspects, through the role of investors and shareholders in a crisis, to perspectives on the StaRUG and international restructuring approaches.
This year, WAYES is not only sponsoring the Focus Day as part of the Restructuring Forum, but is also actively contributing to the programme: Hamed Omumi, together with Dr Hans-Joachim Berner from the law firm KÖSTERBERNER, will deliver a keynote presentation on the topic “What is really possible: underestimated levers for restructuring in insolvency proceedings”. Using concrete practical examples, operational and legal levers within insolvency proceedings will be highlighted and contextualised, with a clear focus on their practical applicability and effectiveness.
It is precisely this practical relevance that makes the Restructuring Forum so valuable to us: the exchange goes beyond pure theory and offers in-depth insights into real-life decision-making situations where speed, clarity and close coordination among all stakeholders are crucial.
