New Manager School – Leadership begins with attitude

The step into a management role marks more than just a new career stage. It brings responsibility, room for manoeuvre and the opportunity to actively shape your own team. In order to consciously shape this transition, we support our new managers at WAYES as part of our internal New Manager School.

This customised format supports our colleagues in fulfilling their new role, reflecting on individual issues and developing their personal leadership personality. In a dynamic working environment, it is crucial to take time to develop key soft skills and encourage dialogue within the peer group.

A central element of the current workshop was the collaboration with external communications expert Lars Hartenstein from the Pitch Perfect Academy. In a practical development unit, the focus was on topics such as communication barriers, personality-centred leadership, constructive feedback and thinking in the ‘bigger picture’. Participants had the opportunity to try things out outside their comfort zone, adopt new perspectives and actively engage with their role in the management team. We are delighted that the New Manager School was once again very well received this year and are convinced that effective leadership is created through attitude, connection and a willingness to develop further. We are looking forward to the impetus that our new managers will bring to the team in the future – and to the path we will continue to take together as a management team.
