Insolvency Administrators’ Congress 2025: Professional exchange with vision

From 5 to 7 November, Berlin once again became the meeting place for restructuring and reorganisation experts: At the 2025 German Insolvency Administrators’ Congress organised by the VID – Association of Insolvency Administrators and Trustees in Germany, experts from the fields of law, business, science and politics came together to discuss key developments in the industry.

Our colleagues Stefan Wechsung, Maria Husemann, Falk Schnurbusch, Sunny-Jo Linderkamp, Daniel Harbrecht and Silvan Drasch were there and experienced three intensive days full of professional inspiration, controversial discussions and valuable encounters. The programme covered a wide range of topics that shape our daily work:

From the interactions between German and European insolvency law to crisis prevention in times of geopolitical tension to the challenges facing municipal budgets, it became clear that restructuring today is much more than just crisis management. It is a key instrument for economic stability and shaping the future.

Discussions on the harmonisation of European insolvency regulations and the role of the public sector in restructuring measures attracted particular attention, as did practical contributions on self-administration, financial planning and executive liability. New perspectives on topics such as the integration of AI into legal processes and the valuation of companies in uncertain times also sparked lively exchanges and provided plenty of food for thought.

In addition to the content-rich programme, the congress also offered numerous networking opportunities: at the exclusive kick-off event at Hugos Restaurant with the presentation of the 2025 Uhlenbruck Prize, as well as during the atmospheric evening at KINK Berlin.

The VID Congress once again highlighted the importance of continuous dialogue between insolvency administrators, consultants, the judiciary and academia in order to actively shape the future of restructuring.

A big thank you to the VID for the excellent organisation, the depth of content and the atmosphere. We are taking home many new ideas, contacts and perspectives.
