Knapheide: Successful transaction of all business units
Puzzle completely put together: WAYES has completed successful transactions for all business units of Knapheide Hydraulik-Systeme – all jobs will be retained.
With effect from May 1, 2023, H. Gulich’s Nachf. Fördertechnik GmbH from Eltingen/Unterfranken has taken over the conveyor belt division of Knapheide Hydraulik-Systeme GmbH. H. Gulich’s Nachf. Fördertechnik GmbH is a company of the REMA TIP TOP Group headquartered in Poing near Munich, a globally active system provider of services and products in the field of conveyor and processing technology and for tire repair.
“With the acquisition of Knapheide’s conveyor belt business, we are significantly expanding our production capacity of high-quality conveyor belts. Gulich and Knapheide are characterized by high quality standards and a strong focus on original equipment manufacturers in mechanical and plant engineering. This makes us an excellent complement to each other.”
Sebastian Wetzel, CEO of Gulich Fördertechnik
Already with effect from April 15, 2023, the globally active hydraulics specialist HANSA-FLEX AG from Bremen had taken over all other business units of Knapheide Hydraulik Systeme GmbH.
With these two transactions, the WAYES team has succeeded – as part of the self-administration proceedings initiated at the end of 2022 for the four operating companies of the Knapheide Hydraulik Group – in selling all business units to strong strategic investors. This means that the approx. 400 jobs at the sites in Beckum (NRW) and Kaltenkirchen (Schleswig-Holstein) can be fully preserved.
WAYES, together with the reorganization and restructuring experts Prof. Dr. Gerrit Hölzle and Dr. Thorsten Bieg from the law firm GÖRG as reorganization managing directors and the operative management around Kai-Uwe Knapheide, Jürgen Kurz and Axel Fuisting, stabilized the company in a very short time and successfully continued to manage it until the handover to the new owners, which has now taken place. The administrator in these self-administration proceedings is the lawyer Stefan Michels.
