As is traditional, we start the year with an assessment of the economic environment and show the status quo as well as the opportunities, risks and potentials for all important economic sectors.

The year 2022 is currently still dominated by Corona – it currently remains the overriding topic. However, there is much to suggest that the pandemic will now be followed by the endemic and that we can prepare ourselves for a “new normal”. Besides Corona, there are other important topics.

This year is clearly marked by new beginnings for us: digitalisation and sustainability continue to be the megatrends and demand active participation. Technological breakthroughs and awareness of resource-efficient working will lead to exciting innovations, entrepreneurial ideas and new growth.

We discuss the additional challenges facing the German economy and which sectors have particularly good prospects this year in our ‘WAYES annual outlook 2022’.
